Dr. Standal has 30 years of experience in family and relationship therapy. He teaches healthy parenting skills, especially with difficult adolescents,and helps deal with depression and mental illness within the family.

He has worked successfully with families’ members who have suffered from the effects of addiction in the family as well as the ensuing problems of domestic violence. Dr. Standal works very closely with the special needs of returning service members and their families as well as the relational issues and patterns of development in blended stepfamilies and stepparents.
